Toronto Tuesday : Bad Business & Friendly Bikers

Each Tuesday, Spacing Montreal will share some posts from our sister blog, Spacing Toronto. We hope it will fuel constructive dialogue on the urban issues faced by both cities.
• John Lorinc provides insight into the Canadian Federation of Independent Business rankings of the top entrepreneurial cities. Toronto is dead last in 96th place, but Montreal isn't much better at 88th. Download the report here.
• A new campaign promoting friendly cyclists has hit the city in the form of Appreciation Cards intended to be given to considerate drivers.
• WATERTABLE is unveiled as Toronto's first permanent permanent multimedia art commission beneath the Gardiner Expressway. Toronto artists Lisa Steele and Kim Tomczak strung LED lights underneath the expressway projecting an audio lapping of water and waves, recorded on the Toronto Islands.
•“The Leona Drive Project” is an interesting new art installation in northern Toronto focused on the wandering bungalow and the rising skyscraper skyline of the area. Six postwar bungalows slated for demolition that have been converted into art and archival pieces by over a dozen artists. You can hear more about this project and more on Spacing Radio.
