beautiful composition.
scary and beautiful :)

the Olympic athlete housing was supposed to be social housing after the games, but they turned it into luxury condos instead. Do our municipal official have no shame whatsoever? Or are they just compulsive liars for whom we should never trust ever?

Dear Bob.,

Your last two sentences are substantially correct.

God help all if they sign off greedily and mismanage the open lands still remaining at Turcot Yard, the old CNR Pointe St Charles Shops and the Blue Bonnets Raceway.

They tried it in Griffintown. Right now the high cost of exploitation is maintaining the status quo for most of those places. As long as the arrested development descendants of Radiant City Beautiful are calling the shots, no, bob, they certainly can't be trusted.

I've never been in that building. I wonder how it has aged in there?

It's such a shame that the Olympic Games and Mirabel debacles frightened Montreal, Québec and Canada from continuing to undertake (over?)ambitious project. I think we too easily forget the great success stories of the modernist project here - not just Expo 67, but also the Métro system, the road infrastructure (some of it less great), la ville 'intérieure', and the new downtown just to name a few.

BRING ON A RENEWAL OF AMBITION!
