Montage du jour : Une vue du vieux-port

1953-2008
La photographie de 1953 nous présente un vieux port bien différent de celui que nous connaissons aujourd'hui. En effet, nous pouvons apercevoir : le silo # 2, le marché Bonsecours alors dépourvu de son dôme, puisque celui-ci avait été endommagé lors d'un incendie en 1948 ainsi que l'édifice du poste de police de la cité du Havre.

Guillaume, your before and after photographs are a tremendous asset to this site and a wonderful resource for those interested in the history of Montreal.
Also, is it true that the masonry of the old poste de police survives in storage? I remember hearing something to that effect.
